Block Energy says West Rustavi EPF is now able to receive gas

Block Energy PLC (LON:BLOE) told investors that the early production facility (EPF) at the West Rustavi oil and gas field is now ready to receive gas.

It is now connected to the WR-16aZ and WR-38Z wells which presently remain shut-in until a gas sales line has been constructed and gas sales can begin.

Block noted that construction of the gathering line between the wells and the EPF was completed on time and on budget. It was pressure tested with no failures.

Bago LLC, which previously agreed to purchase the EPF gas, has received all required permits and is continuing with the construction of its gas sales line.

Oil production will restart at West Rustavi once the sales line is completed.

“I am extremely pleased with the continued progress we have made with our EPF at West Rustavi, despite the operational challenges that COVID-19 has presented,” said Paul Haywood, Block chief executive.

Haywood added: “Focus is now on supporting Bago to ensure the safe and efficient installation of the sales pipeline, which will allow gas sales to commence.

“We look forward to updating the market further as we approach Block’s inaugural gas sales.”
