ADM Energy appoints a former UK Government Minister for Africa as a non-executive director

ADM Energy PLC (LON:ADME) has announced the appointment of a former UK Government Minister for Africa, Sir Henry Bellingham as a non-executive director of the company with immediate effect.

The oil and gas investing company noted that, in a distinguished Parliamentary career of almost 40 years, Bellingham held a number of other senior positions including Foreign Office Minister for The UN, Caribbean, Overseas Territories and Conflict Issues; chairman of the Westminster Foundation for Democracy; chairman of the All-Party Group on the Commonwealth; and the Prime Minister`s Trade Envoy to Libya.

In addition to his Parliamentary career, he has held several non-executive roles on AIM companies and, until recently, was non-executive chairman of Pathfinder Minerals PLC since 2014. Prior to entering Parliament, he practised as a barrister having graduated from Magdalene College, Cambridge with a master’s degree in Law.

Peter Francis, ADM’s non-executive chairman said: “It is a great pleasure to welcome Sir Henry to ADM Energy, which further strengthens the Board following the appointment of Dr Stefan Liebing earlier this month. The addition of Sir Henry, with his high-ranking contacts and expertise in Africa, will be a great asset to ADM as we push forward our strategy to expand our investment portfolio across Nigeria and West Africa.”

On his appointment, Bellingham commented: “It is an exciting time to join ADM and work alongside an ambitious team determined to drive forward its expansion plans in West Africa. I have gained a great understanding of the region throughout my various roles in Parliament, including as a former Minister for Africa, and I look forward to supporting ADM as it enters the next stage of its development.”

In a separate statement, ADM Energy also announced that at its annual general meeting held on Wednesday, all resolutions were duly passed.
